For commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Korean War, CPFWP-Korea remembers the sacrifices of Chinese Troops during the Battle of Triangle Hill (Sniper Ridge). Hence, CPFWP-Korea held a commemorative ceremony on Oct 18, 2020, for the liberation of Chinese troops for peace at the park at Sniper Ridge located at Cheorwon, where the battle takes place. Total around 60 participants joined the ceremony, and over 30 Korean Chinese participants together. During the ceremony, Mr. Hwang Bo guk offer a proclamation to Heaven about liberating Chinese Troops and becoming Peace Corps in Heaven by protecting the peace of the two nations and opening a new chapter of history for the relationship between Korea and China.
CPFWP International advisor, Prof. Hwang speaks about “70 years ago, the Chinese Troops came to Korea for war. 70 years after, please help for the unification of Korea.”. The chairman of CPFWP-Korea, Mrs. Sui Li Jing mentioned that everyone would long for their homeland, Korean people want to show their gratitude heart towards Chinese Troops who sacrifices their life here able be rest in peace and together we wish cheorwon a lasting peaceful land.
Multi-cultural Women Association Chairman, Ms. Lee Young-suk was later invited to speak, and mentioned that we should forgive each other where each one of us have responsibility world peace. All the participants appreciated the importance for peace and knowing the painful feeling of the war, where everyone determine to expand the development of peace between two nation.
